99 D16Y7 swap to 97 D16Y8
So I have got my hands on a D16Y8 from a 97 SI (CDN) and was planning on putting it in my 99 EX with a D16Y7. I pulled out the ECU today and it has P2P computer. Will this ECU work for the engine? I need to stay with OBD2 due to Ontario emissions test. Does the OBD2 or OBD2b make a difference, it only says P2P on the ECU and a another number code. Any help would be great.
I am not quite sure what a good US comparison would be to Ontario's Drive Clean.Any one from Ontario tried it? There is alot of these cars out there someone must know.I could always get a conditional pass if I had to.
Will this ECU worlk with a high compression N/A motor, or will have to go ODB1?

BUMP
Is the same for all OBD2 systems or just the D16s. I will probably just rebuild and keep the reliability and fuel mileage. It will save me some money for my next Honda too.

What do you do if you have a OBD2 B16 in a Civic but want to tune and need to pass emissions? Most states/provinces have emissionstests don't they.I don't think I could get away with it here in Ontario. I am going to look into how they test them and how they hook them up to your car. I'll post my findings.
yea im not sure. they say that for emissions you cant switch to and OBD version that is older than your current one. you have OBD2b, so you cant use OBD2a, OBD1, or OBD0. i dont know if this applies where you live. if you cant switch to OBD1, then pretty much the only thing you can do is use a piggyback unit such as greddy e manage.
