Default any way to trick the vtec signal to the ecu?

hey guys i just installed a skunk2 intake manifold and throttle body
in my d16 engine .. i needed to change the ecu because the P2P would not
let the car iddle correctly so now i have P28 but my car is not vtec, so the check
engine light is on .. so i was thinking is there anyway to trick the ecu so that light would go out ..
maybe a resistor somewhere. i dont know .. what do you guys knoW?

When my skunk mani was installed along with the TB, the car also idled crazy, between 1400-2500 rpm's I believe. I dont exactly how they brought the idle down, but I believe idle control. What gave you the idea to switch the ECU? I thought that the P28 was the stock ECU for D16 engines.

dont they make a non-vtec d16, i could be wrong..............cant you just mess with the throttle plate to control the idle?

oh I see, you're non vtec. I dont know if switching ECU's was the right thing to do. I think you can bring the idle down with the idle control on the TB. Worse comes to worse take it to a mechanic they should be able to bring it down.

With adding a vtec to a non vtec, assuming you have a obd1... You need the p28 ecu. Other that that it's just adjusting the idle and/or other mechanics of it. Adding the intake is probably giving you more airflow, thus you need to adjust the idle to match it. Correct me if I'm wrong, just how I would see it...
