Default Car too old?

I asked two different mechanics about this and both told me two different things. I have an automatic1993 civic ex, right now with custom exhaust and intake; saving for header. One mechanic I spoke to recommended I get a msd 6a/6al to get a little more power out of my engine. He also said the more I do to it, the more the msd will help. I asked another just to get a second opinion and he told me not to because my car is too old. It's got about 130k miles on it. Any input??

yes 130k is not alot of miles for a honda motor. you can upgrade to a MSD if you would like

i was having electrical problems in general and i needed a new cap for my distributor soyea i noticed the car ran alot better(did 6a cap and blaster coil)....it did seem to run stonger at higher rpm as i had my rev limit up to 8200 and it was really weak over the stock redline before i put in the msd....still didnt make it worth taking it that high but it seemed better when i did...unfortunatly i didnt have the car for long after so i dont know about long term wear or performance
