ecu check engine light

Default ecu check engine light

hey got a oo si and it threw three codes. two were for fuel too rich on cylinder one and two but the other was code 1337 which i just read something like engine speed rpm no signal or something where is that? why would it throw that code?

the second code is your vehicle speed sensor. it's probably messed up. it's located on topside of the tranny, next to the rear tranny mount with a 3 wire plug

wouldnt that make the speedometer act funky? someone told me that the speed fluctuation sensor no signal is on the throttle body doesnt make any sense to me but whatever

you're right. my bad. i read it wrong

on B- & F-series that sensor is near the crankshaft pulley. It's a magnetic sensor that reads teeth on another sprocket behind the timing-belt drive sprocket.

So the wires come up along the backside of the timing cover. Look for something unplugged? Or broken wires? You can always replace the sensor, but first I like to rule out stuff like loose wiring.

makes sense i knew the guy that sold me the car and i do remember now that there was something unplugged near the cp but that was awhile ago i thought he would have that fixed by now where does it plug in i know you already told me but i know mostly about old b16s i usually build crx whith jdm swaps what does that sensor do if it stays unplugged will i fail emissions will it dsamage my engine it still engages vtec

you need to plug it in because it will throw a check engine light and you will automatically fail emmisions if the tech sees a check engine light.
