Default ecu knock sensor code

i have a d16y8 head on a d16z6 block and its throwing a knock sensor code. According to my research (please correct me if i'm wrong) 92-95 civic ex's (d16z6) do not have a knock sensor. So will replacing my p2p ecu with a p28 and converting from obd2 to obd1 solve my knock sensor problem??thanks in advance

yes you should be using the P28 ECU. Since the P28 is not made for a knock sensor engine, it doesn't have the ability to throw a code for knock sensor.

Yes, it's illegal because your are converting an obdII car to obdI. Also, you won't pass your smog check.
