ECU question
I currently have a P06 in my car running a B18b1. Im wondering whether it should have a P75 instead? Its a 2000 civic with an OBD1 jumper harness. Either way, I plan on getting a Hondata setup and have the car tuned this summer. Also wondering, I see VTEC ECUs on ebay all the time that are already Hondata ready, correct me if Im wrong, but cant I run a VTEC ecu and just disable the VTEC?

yes you can run a vtec ECU on a non vtec engine. When you get tuned you would just set the vtec to engage and disengage at the same rpm.
I would think a P75 would be better for the B18B but if the car is running fine now then dont sweat it. I would look into getting a P28 ECU though to put your Hondata in, just a lot easier ECU to chip and socket |
It runs pretty good, but it kinda shutters around 2k or less. Its not a real problem but stop and go traffic daily is making it get old fast. I read this same thing on a couple other b18b swaps that went to OBD1 so I think Ill get Hondata, p28, and get tuned. I plan on going boost in about a year anyway once I have a DD car.
