ecu question....almost done!

hey whats going on? im new to the forum and i had a question. i have a 94 honda civic lx 4 door manual and im swaping a d15b vtec. i already have the wiring harness for it and i was trying to figure what alternatives do i have as far as a ecu. i know the p28 and p08 are the main 2 people go with but im trying to figure out is could i use any other vtec ecu thats obd1 to work with the harness for example like the p07, p27? i also heard the p70 could also work but wont pass the emissions i could careless passing it cause i know a place but im trying to figure out other options besides the 2 common ones. also where could i get the cross over and rev limiter for the examples listed? Also could i use my stock lx ecu to chip to work with vtec besides getting a swaped ecu?

If you know those are the main 2, why not get 1 of them?? Why beat around the bush and make things harder on yourself, just get the right damn ECU. As far as rev limiter, what do you mean where do i get one, its programmed. Bottom line, stop dicking around and just get the ECU you know will work

Ok here is the deal with the JDM D15B, it has no knock sensor like other obd1 vtec engines. You will throw a CEL with anything other than a P08, also the P28 absolutly kills that engines abilities as it is de-tuned so to speak compared to the P08. I ran my D15B with a P30 which is made for the OBD1 B16A's but once again I had to rig up a knock sensor so not to throw a CEL.

Bar none the best ecu to run the swap with is a P08 or a obd1 ecu chipped with 930 maps and the knock sensor removed.

ahh sorry guys yeah i ended up buying a p08 for 65.00 a virgin one. i think my question would be this i heard there needs to be splicing to 3 of the wires to run the vtec. does anyone know of this?
