help with spacific vtec controller?
i bought a vtec controller from a site on the internet called BUDDYCLUB.COM I HEARD FROM SOME FRIENDS THAT THERE **** WAS PRITTY GOOD FOR A GOOD PRICE BUT THE VCON IS ****IN UP MY MOTOR AND I HAD A SHOP PUT IT IN RIGHT SO COULD SOMEONE GIVE ME A COUPLE OF REASONS Y IT'S DOIN THAT?
it has been hooked up correctly and iv been using it right, but my motor for some reason is trying to stop it, it cuts out as in the limiter .....like i have it kickin in at 6100rpms and it hits limiter at 7000rpms Y? DO i need a chip to bypass it or do i just need to get it tuned right or get rid of it?
hmm, shouldn't you have it tuned lower than 6100 rpm's and it'd help to get a mechanic to look at it... though they'd probaly rape you, just wait till tommorrow, hopefully someone will come along and help ya out
The rev limiter kicks in at 7,200ish rpm because that's all the engine can safely turn without causing problems. Tune the vtec controller to a lower setting, 5,500 maybe.
What engine are we talking about?.. If it's a B series you can turn more than 7200 rpm but a D series I wouldn't recomend it.

Well man I hate to be the one to say this but there is no reason to change the vtec cross over unless you have mods to support it and you do it on a dyno. To think honda dont know what they are doing with their own tech. is not the best way of thinking. So if it is a D series set it at 5500rpm, B18C1(gsr) set it at 4400rpm, B16A/A1/A2/A3 and B18C/C5 set it around 4600 to 4800rpm.
