Default Keyless Entry

OK - I spent most of today running about various garages/hardware stores etc looking for a new battery for my keyless entry transmitter... when i finally got home and fitted the new battery, pressed the button and......... NOTHING!

The red light now lights up but thats it!

Anyone have any ideas??? Maybe a fuse blown within the signal reciever? If so, does anyone know where this would be so I can replace it?

6th gen hatch

???

You may have to reset the transmitter thing. I think what you do is get inside the car, turn the key to accessory mode, push and hold the little bar button between the cd and am/fm buttons and then push the lock button on the remote a bunch of times until the doors start locking. Thats probly not right but its something along the lines of that.

Look in your fuse panel and make sure there is no fuse for the key less entry.

Just went and looked at it. Hold down the button thingy until the doors lock and keep it held down. Then hit the lock button on your remote several times until it starts locking.

I just read another post on here that said that the signal reciever for american civics is in the original head unit - but for me (in scotland) the receiver is next to the rear view mirror - not sure if there is any buttons to press to reset the remote. I'll check the fuse and failing that take it down to honda !

Cheers
