RE: Kill switch installation

Are you talking about an ignition cutoff switch or a battery disconnect?

I'm not sure I understand, why would your car start if it's off?

There is either a kill switch or a battery disconnect... many forms of organized racing require one or the other. A battery switch requires running battery cables into the passenger compartment and mounting a cutoff lever. A kill switch is a simple switch that kills the ignition (but still lets power get to everything else) and is attached to the coil solenoid.

If you connected it to the battery then you wired it all wrong. If you hook it up to the battery, then every time you activate the kill switch all the presets are gonna go as well as the long term fuel trim for you fuel maps. Every time you activate the kill switch imaging you are removing the battery from the car, because its pretty much the same thing. This is a very idea for several reason. When i wired a kill switch for my buddy, i cut the power wire for the fuel pump and wired the switch into that. You can also use the ignition or a couple other wires. I dunno how you even wired a switch into the battery since the cables are pretty damn thick.
