Default noob ?, please help

hey yall, ok, i think this is the right place to post this.

I just installed an aftermarket exhaust (magnaflow) and im pleased with it, BUT the check engine light stays on at all times. Now, i know why its on because i already got it checked (something about a cataltic problem) which makes since because i got rid of the converter all together, SHHHH. What i need to know, is if theres any way to stop the engine light from coming on because of this problem only. If theres any way to change the computer to not recognize just this as a problem, then please let me know, thanx

You can do an O2 simulator, or you can do a resistor in line with the sensor. I don't remember what resistance you need to feed it though, and why would you remove your cat? There are no major gains by doing so except for sound unless you have some major work done. Eh, anyway, thats what you need to do.

i would try and just unplug the battery for a second, it should reset it, and if i remember correctly, i think i saw someone on here say you can take out the ecu fuse (under hood) and plug that back in and it should reset it, let me know how you make out!

if you did not use the special socket you most likely broke the wire at the cap.on your o2 sensor. but try a reset first, just in case
