Default OBD1-2A problem

Hi
Had my tuner put in the power FC, with the 1-2A harness I got. Won't start, throws a CEL, tuner says it's because of a voltage difference on return wire from the dizzy, OBD1 is 5v and OBD2 runs 12v (or vice versa, I've forgot). Ideas on how do I fix this? Swap internals from an OBD2 dizzy into mine if that possible? Get a 2 dizzy and re-qire from plugs?

cheers
Dan.
