Phearable.net chips = plug n play?
Do the chipped OBD1 ECU's from Phaeable.net just completely replace the ECU i have now? Like i unplug my ECU, install the OBD2 to OBD1 harness, and plug in your new chipped ECU. As far as i can tell, that is what you do. Is this the story? And anyone got any chips from that website? Cuz it looks like that would be the perfect ECU for me to get.
Yeah i thoguht so too, like i never really thought about chipping, but the testimonials on the Phearable website look really good. Alot of the cars just have I/H/E like me, and they all said they could feel gains.
well even if you buy the new ecu chipped and all its still not a whole lot of money. I think it said that they are adjustable with Crome and Hondata and neptune which makes them a good asset to have once you have more mods done.
One last question about the new ECU, do i have to Dyno tune once i put it in? Or can i just put it in and be good to go? Because before they chip your ECU for you, you tell them your mods and car model and everything so they tune the ECU for you before you get it. Would i still need to dyno?
it almost impossible to to match up exactly to what your car has to the way it performs with the mods. granted they know all your mods and do a rough tune but id go ahaed and get it dyno tuned for safe measure. you cant really tune a ecu without it on the car.
yeah makes sense, but until i save up the money to get it tuned, i should be good (atleast better than the stock ECU anyway), and like sillyredcivic said though, they are adjustable with Crome and Hondata, so that makes tuning easy in the future.
And i was just reading the testimonials, and one guy said:

The basemap I got from him is great. I took my car to the dyno the other day to get it tuned and the tuner had very little changes to make with my fuel management.
So maybe getting it tuned won't have to be a priority for a while.
