Default Question about the CEL DIY

https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_152006/tm.htm

on there, it says the DIY was done on a 97 Civic, which would mean it's OBD2. I posted a question about pulling an OBD2 code (my cars a 99 and i got a CEL), and everyone said the only way to get it read was by a shop with an OBD2 reader. They siad the blinking thing (that the DIY is talking about) only works for OBD1. How is that DIY possible on a 97 then? Or was i told the wrong information?

Try the DIY and see if it works... how long have you had the CEL?

a while now, but i was looking at: https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_131952/tm.htmand dont undertand how to rear the OBD2 codes. I can see the OBD1, but how do you rear a P1679 code (for example)?
