throw 2 codes at once?

Ok, my car is a piece, and it throws codes left and right. First I have counted 17 blinks, then 18, then one, and now 1 and 18? Can a obd0 ecu throw more then one code at once? I'm about to say screw this a swap it! Anyone wanna buy a d16a6 with 150,000 plus miles, perfect tranny, axles, linkage, mounts and ecu?
