Turbo timer on a normally aspirated car.
My friend, Cory, asked me a question that I really didn't know the answer to. He used to have an Audi turbo something and had a turbo timer in it. When it was wrecked, he took it out. He bought an N/A Integra with a swap (H22 I think) and was wondering if he could get the the turbo timer to let the engine cool down. Would this actually work and have an effect on an N/A engine, having cool down time, or would it be a waste of time?
yeah, the turbo gets really hot, then if you park it and shut it down, the oil left in the turbo will cook an dcoagulate, and the turbo wont last nearly as long as it should. a turbo timer allows you to leave the car idling for a couple of minutes without sitting in it and with no theft worries.
