Turbo tune management help (warning I am new to this)
First off, this is my first post/car worth tuning.
To get into it, I am buying a 97 DX with a GT28 turbo and all the necessary components. It does not have tune management and I will be getting one (Hondata) when I get it. The car has SAFC II Fuel Managment.
What does the hondata do more than the fuel management?
If I got a Hondata, would I want to keep it in or is it redundant?
Would they both need to be tuned separately?
Is the S100 not enough smarts for a boosted car? Should I go with the S300?
Anything else I should know?
I know a good amount about the mechanics of cars, but I have never dealt with the ECU or tuning before. I have a local dyno tune that I have read good reviews about. They charges $450 to tune a Hondata. Is that in the fair price range?

Do more research.
Talk to your local tuning shop. They will be more than happy to point you in the right direction, especially because they'll be the ones cleaning everything up. Since I live in Wisconsin and I drove the boosted civic daily I went with s300. It's claim that s300 can compensate for cold weather better than s100.
I don't think you would want to have two forms of fuel management.
