i will be getting a 1990 civic hatchback dx, pretty soon. and i will eventually get a b16a1 from a jdm sir from online, i heard that the b16a1 uses the same parts(water pump, timing belt, clutch, etc.)as the b16a3, found in a 1994-1995delsol. is this true? thanks.

 

The clutch on the del sol was hydro and the a1 (gen 1) is a cable clutch so that is not the same....the timing belt is prob the same and i really dont know about the water pump

 

so then i should look into a clutch for a 90-93 integra then, right?

 

Just get a bseries act stage 1 clutch you just have to make sure it says for cable trans...

 

keep in mind.........the 90-91 cable transmissions use a different spline count for the clutch disc in comparison to the 92-93 transmission. you need to find out what year the engine and transmission is your getting.

 

it it on one of the websites for jdm motors. it says it came out of a jdm89-91 civic/crx sir.

 

assuming they send you nothing but an 88-91 engien and tranny combo...the 90-91 integra ls clutch is what youll need.

 

i heard that i should get a clutch for a 92-93 integra gsr with the b17, because it is really the same motor, internally, and externally as the b16a1, and the clutch for the b17 is the same from as a 94 delsol b16.

 

since ur buying the engine online, alot of the swaps include the jdm clutch, just use that one

 

im not going to put a used clutch in a car, and than have to put another in. i want to put a stage 1 clutch in the car anyway
