Exclamation b18c motor swap to 89 hatch

ok to start off i am tj and i have an 89 hatchback civic si that i am looking to put a b18c motor in. i have looked all around the forums and i believe this is the best route for me to take. i have some experience in mechanic work but i really havent ever dropped a motor in a car before. should i have this professionally done or not. i have also read on some forums that if i use this motor that i will need to cut into the firewall so that the intake fits. my car is a si model with the multiport fuel injection, so am i really gona have to cut into the firewall and could i use the stock si intake with the b18c ecu or is it a different intake all together.

i found the swap and i believe the kit has everything i need but the mounts and a cable/hydrulic conversion kit. how much will these two things run me.
also the motor swap kit is around $4K, does this seem right or am i about to be ripped off.

how much should this complete swap run me when everything is done.

Thanks for the help,
TJ

Well I know those engines go for around $4000 at least. As far an the intake goes, I'm not exactly sure, but AEM and maybe some others make "hybrid" intakes to fit into swapped engines.

you should be ok just need to get the aftermarket motor mounts and the hybrid intake which are also sold...however if this is not your only car i would take the time to do the work yourself it will be a great learning experience for you...
