Okay so i was getting onto the freewayon sundayand after hitting 100 i let off...the next time i look down it shows speed as 0. Then a couple minutes later the check engine light came on. So now i dont know how fast im going and my trip count doesnt work anymore...any ideas on where i should start

check to see what the CEL is for.
then start probing with your DMM.

 

you can always check the speedo cable. check to see if its firmly seated into the transmission and guage cluster. if it is........remove the cable from the transmission and pull the inner cable out of its sheath. make sure its not binding or in 2 peices. but for the most part assuming your talking about your b18a and it still has its stock transmission, 70mph should roughly be 3k rpms.

 

for sure im going to check that out on saturday when i dont have to work
