i'm sure with a little searching of the many posts on here you will find this question asked and answered. however, i will answer from my own knowledge. first off the way you are posing your question is confusing. are you swapping the intake? or are you swaping the entire intake manifold, throttle body, and swapping to mpfi? ive never personally seen anyone do this if thats the case, but i'm sure its possible if the block series are the same, for instance if you are dealing with 2 d series motors. now to run mpfi i believe you will need the compatible ecu from the 92, an obd0 - obd1 conversion harness (150 bucks or so), and you will need the resistor box from the 92 as well to run the mpfi, all of this is in addition to swapping the injection systems. good luck. and do much research before attempting this.

now if you just wanna swap intakes thats a simple bolt on swap.

i have a 89 d15b2 its dpfi 5spd, i can get a 92 with a d15? in it, its mpfi, it has a auto trans though,i want to swap to a better computer system so i can run dionastic checks on my car with my hand held reader,i head theres a difference in the distibuters,i want to take the complete head, fuel rail, intake manifold, throttle body, and all the rest of the 92s parts and put it on my 89, does it matter that the 92 is a auto trans???is there a difference between auto and manual computers?is there anywhere i can get the harness without sending them mine? the cars my daily driver at the moment, also would this kind of swap be reliable and drivable???

to convert to obd 1 you need a conversion harness form www.rywire.com or www.boomslang.us then you need to just swap the intake manifold with the one from the 92 along with injectors, throttle body, and obd1 ecu. nothing else needs to be changed. since you would be using the obd1 fuel injectors you do not need an injector resistor box. you just connect the wires acording to the directions and then your done.

now is there a cheaper way to do this, i have both complete cars the 92 and my driver the 89 is it easy to use the parts from the 92 like harness wires and plugs??? also is the o2 sensor from the 92 a 4 wire setup??? i plan to use the head and dizzy from the 92 as well
