Default 92 cx hb

Alright, So I'm a newb.
I have a 92 hatchback CX. It has oil in coolant and I'm pretty sure its a blown gasket or block... I want to do a swap for something cheap and economical. I use this cars for deliveries and just want something efficient (i have a sunday driver ep3 that I love) Anyway, if i get a b engine, will i need to swap transmission and ecu too? if i buy on ebay from a jdm importer what should i look for and what is absolutely necessary (not "it would be cool if you put...") to make this a running and efficient vehicle again?
if i buy a D series engine, can i use my transmission?
if i get a B what else will i need?
Thanks ... to you, the gurus.

I believe someone people posted how to do any of the B series swaps in the EG Swaps section. If you check that out, it tells you everything you will need. But if you go with any of the D series they should all drop in no problem and wire up pretty easily unless you get the vtec but that only takes a few extra wires. I think your tranny would work fine also with any of the D series engines.

yes any d series will work on your trans if you just want economical just put a head gasket on the one you got have the head checked do a watter pump and timeing belt and a tune up at the same time
the 1.5 are known for bad head gaskets as long as its not got to hot you will be fine
if you do that please do yourself a favor and use O.E. honda parts and ngk plugs and wires
