B20 Swap
I have a 1999 Accord I am trying to sell right now to buy a cheap 92' to 95' coupe or a EK Hatch and i wanted to know is it hard to do a B20B swap. No GS-R head or anything, just want to do a B20. Will the ECU Plug in or will i have to modify it? And what kind or transmission will i need, will a GSR, LS, or CTR, or ITR. Will any of those work? Thanks

RE: B20 Swap
youll have to find a OBD1 LS ecu, not to sure about the upper driver side mount, any of those transmissions will work(hydrolic)

RE: B20 Swap
LS trans will have the best gears for that motor, but if you can get hold of a type r trans, grab it. they come with LSD, and so the too-short gear ratios would be worth it. oh, and if you can get the b20z, it makes more power, and if you arent doing a vtec head or boost, its way better.

RE: B20 Swap
B16A transmission will have the best gearing

RE: B20 Swap
i am also trying to do a B20 non-vtec swap into my EG8 4door, the car im getting the engine from is an 87 prelude si, is the OBD the same or what?? and can i use my D15 tranny, and finally will it even be worth it?

RE: B20 Swap
the old B20's out of the old ludes are not worth the time nor the money to swap them in.

RE: B20 Swap
im also tryin to get a b20 swap done. da best way to go is a type-r tranny n a type-r head or b-16 head. u need da v-tec if doinb20. since dey com non-vtec. i mean it will still roll wit da torque kickin in betta den most b series. the close ratio gears from the type-r will be more then enough. of course the type-r tranny is a lot betta den da gsr n da b16 tranny.all depends on wat u want. if u do a type-r tranny do a type-r head. b-16 tranny n a b-16 head. betta den mixin dem. put in som type-r cams. u will kick som A$$!
