Block for B16 head

So just picked up an obd1 b16a head, and I'm tossing some ideas around. I'm considering sourcing either a b16 block, or a b18c1 and build me a poor man's type r. Any thoughts on either of those?

B16 short block would just make it a B16. A B18b1 short block would make it LS/VTEC, not a B18c1 short block.

go b18 for turbo or n/a, go b20 for n/a.
