You're better off just swapping in a d16z6. You can get the whole swap for about $500. Then you don't have as much to worry about. Its not a difficult swap either.

yeah, the tranny bolts right up. The motor mounts too... and look on the bright side, when you tell people what kind of engine you have, you dont have to tell them you have a D series "mini me" they prolly wouldnt know what that is. AND youll have like 20+ more hp. Im looking to do it myself. good luck man.

Since you have a DX you are lucky in that it does have the VTEC wiring already installed into the car, it is sitting on the top of the passenger strut housing. There is a website, i will have to find it and get back to you wtih the link for it, but they sell the wiring harness to go from your VTEC selenoid to the harness on the strut tower, other than that going from your current engine to either a VTEC D series or and other VTEC engine will not be that hard of a swap. Going to a B16 or B18 is not any harder than swaping in a D16Z6, you have to buy a couple extra parts, but the swap is not that hard at all. It is all a matter of how much you want to spend on the swap and what HP youwant out of the swap.
