Default what model D block should i get? my D z has thrown rod. posibly able to reuse the head.

what it says preaty much.....

im curious if thiers any beter Dseries blocks that i CAN use with my Z6 Vtec head?

thiers alot of MINIme swap info but that just talks about slaping the head on a NONvtec SOHC motor.
and i see quite a few different D15 and D16 blocks with different last letters on it..
im just curious if i can ONLY use 1992-1995 civic D15 or D16 bottom end? or can i get a D series motor from a 96-00 civic as well and have it bolt right into my 1994 civic EX with my Vtec head on a NONvtec motor?

or if all the sensors are in the same location and same as a 92-95civic block....

id PREFERE a vtec motor straight out like the Z6 thats already under the hood but if i can save afew hundred bucks by buying a non vtec motor and swap my vtec head on it for the same power as a stock Z6 id rather do that!
im just not sure how much $$ is a respectable price for a used motor.... i just emptied my bank acount buying this civic so will be a few weeks before i can buy the new motor.... unless i get a birthday loan from my parents to help me get this thing on the road quicker!
