lol im going 2 ignore the 5 second car part and just go w/ the question about making your car fast(er). swap+boost will get you some alright numbers..it wont by any chance be a 5 second car..hahahha..not even a 10 second..
Nitrous is always the cheap and easiest way to go. Just make sure you have someone do it right, meaning, tuning the timing and spark plugs. Install a fuel pressure regulator and gauge to monitor fuel pressure.
Motor Swaps and turbos yield lots of performance advantages. They just take a lot longer and they are more expensive. It just depends on how much time, effort and money you would like to put into going fast.
Also, any weight reduction is always advantageous!

Obviously the pre-requisite intake, header exhaust, maybe even a high flow cat. Go buy a GSR engine (B18C1), sleeve it, bore it, buy some low compression pistons, Crower rods, put on a CTR exhaust cam, slap on a B16A head, maybe a mild port polish, possibly a valve job. Youll then want a better throttle body, and intake manifold. Then looking into turbos, and ignition timing and control. Then, get a turbo manifold, and downpipe. Plus youll probably want an LSD for your tranny, and a stiffer suspension, sway bars and such. THEN, running 20psi-ish, you can break 10 seconds. Good luck too on getting the 20-30 THOUSAND dollars youll need to do that.
But seriously, read around here some more. Check into engine swaps, that will be a good base of knowledge.
