Default B-Series or D-Series?

Im new to Honda engines in general. I really dont have much background knowledge on the different motors (Vtec) available. I am wondering which engines truly are the best for horsepower and reliability (lasts longer then a year or two without problems).
I have plans to turbo it (I have a Garrett T3 already)
I also want to do other performance modifications to it.

Just wondering what is the Pros / Cons about the different series and which do you guys recommend for what i have planned.
Thanks alot!

I don't anything know about that turbo and D-series compatibility, but D engines are a great platform for turbocharging. Even a conservative build can get you a very nice HP increase

So is there still a good amount of other power modifications i can do to say a D16Z6 on top of turbocharging it? and will it hold up well?
Thanks.

how much power are you looking to make?
a b16 or b18 is a stronger engine, its more expensive, but you can make much more power from a n/a b series and youll have the vtec running on both intake and exhaust instead of just intake, like the d series. (equals more pull)
it really all depends on how much power you want to make, if you want forced induction or natual aspiration, and how much cash you want to spend.. a kid i knew was running 12.9-13.1 quarter miles in a d16z6 with nothing more than a tune and a 75 shot of nitrous in a full weight ek hatch.
but a gsr or type r b18 with a tune and a 75 shot would prolly bring it down to low 12s to mid 11's i would guess.
i drive a d16y8, i love the engine. just do some research between the two. price 'em, engine swap kits, ecu's, tranny options, and the upgrades you want (turbo or n/a).
a turbo d series can make 300hp, but ive heard the bottom ends arent the strongest, and you're going to have to use forged internals and nice studs for anything over 250hp, any other opinions?
