f22 swap?

My friend is Giving me a non v-tech f-22 dohc from a prelude. I was wondering if it was possible to throw that in a '98 civic ex. I attend Licoln Tech so there is someone to help me if get stuck. Also there isn't a computer but everything else is included.

I believe the f22 is from an accord, are you talking about the H22 prelude motor?

RE: f22 swap?

We took it out of a prelude. There is a f-22 that comes out of an accord and that is a sohc. Then there is a f-22 that comes out of a prelude and that is a dohc. I know there is also a h-22 that comes out of a prelude but I am almost sure it is a f-22...... anyways wheather it is or not a f-22 is it possible to put a prelude engine in a '98 civic. I am sure I will have to customize that mounts. Is This ever heard of for a civic?

RE: f22 swap?

the f22 came out of some accord

im not sure what mounts you'de need to swap it.. but i would rather do a bseries swap or a h series swap. the h series would be more expensive and a little laborous

RE: f22 swap?

Prelude S- F22A SOHC non-VTEC
Prelude Si- H23A1 DOHC non-VTEC
Prelude VTEC- H22A DOHC VTEC

(for 92-96 models)

Of those the F22A rules. But it takes work to getit to function right.
