Motor swap question
So i am new to working with hondas and was reffered to this site by a friend. my buddy has conned me into doing a motor swap for him
he is driving a 2000 civic hatchback d16 no vtec. cars already a 5spd.
he bought a wrote off 1996 civic si coupe, with a d16 with vtec. i tested the engine and tranny everything seems golden, had it running and such, now here is my question. what all do i need to convert.
do the motor mounts need to be taken from the si and put into the
my main area of concern is the wiring, i will need the ecu and the engine harness correct? do i need to take the dash harness as well, because i noticed theres a difference in the heater controls on the cars one horizontal and ones vertical.
Thanks for any and all help you guys can give me. this is my first FWD project and first fuel injection/ecu controlled car I've ever done a swap on.

Welcome to the forum!
The swap should be pretty straight forward to be honest. The mounts are the same, the wiring is basically the same (you may need to cut and extend a few things, but that is not a big deal I wouldn't think).
You would have to wire in vtec if you do not pull the complete harness out of the SI. Should only be two wires. You will need the ECU from the SI for vtec to engage.
The heater set-up is nothing to worry about.

thank you very much for your quick response, yes i pulled the entire engine harness/ecu, already, i wasn't sure if i was going to need to take the fuse junction from the passenger side firewall or not.
also i have the liberty of the parts car being complete (minus the front end damage) so anything i need is right there,
