Default Swap or boost

ok so i bet u guys have been asked this a million time b4 but i guess ill ask it again... is it worth it to boost a d16y8 .. or is it better to swap out the engine and put b18 or h22 in there? keep in mind i want to make it simple so i dont want to b moving around 2 many things in the engine bay. for a swap will i have to move around the engine mounts? and will i b able to keep my ac and all that. i want this car as a everyday driver but i want it to have some power and still b very reliable. any ideas? if it helps i have a 96 ex. thanks in advanced

it depends on how much you want to spend, what parts are avaliable to you and how much hp are you wanting. to me a turbo kit seems a little easier to install but make sure its done right... for engine swap dont go h22 put either b16 or k20 swap.
the d16y8 has good potential as for sohc...
everybody has their opinion
they make turbo kits that allow you to keep your a/c and stuff..

you can piece together a turbo kit for like $1500 if you know what oyu're doing, and a boosted D can be just as fun as a b-swap, although if you have the time and money and knowledge for a H or K swap you wouldn't be let down. I chose to boost my d16y7 and am more than happy with it, and i have learned sooooo much.

Boosting D's can still be fun. But, I am a B series fan. And for anyone who recommends a B16 swap....have you driven one? Most over rated motor ever. NO torque at all. I have a B18b1 swapped in my hatch and I have pulled past 99-00 Si's and B16 swapped hatches just fine. But if you want VTEC, a B16 head on an LS block is a nice choice, good flowing head with a block thats going to make decent enough torque numbers. GSR swap or LS swap any day over a B16.

Boosting it=more maintenance then a normal engine or swap.
An h22 swap requires more work to swap it, so if you want an easy swap go for a B-series.
Which ever one you do make sure you do a bunch of research before you do it.

Turbo's are easy on engine's, provided they are done right. The more air, fuel the faster you can go in any engine. If your engine is good, and you are gonna turbo either way, just turbo what you have. If you play your cards right, you should be able to transfer the turbo to another engine later, if you decide to upgrade.
