Swaping heads
a general rule is about $100 per HP. if you can get 21+ HP out of $500, go for it. the edelbrock turbo kit goes for about 3500-3900. i know what its like to not be able to drop 4200 bucks on a motor. it took me like two years to finally get my b16a. I looked into the mini-me swap and its not just an add vtec thing. it actually raises compression over that of the stock vtec, so you can expect about 130hp. go with the d16y8 head, intake manifold, and ecu. the y8 has a better chamber design than the z6. as well as the IM flowing the best of all SOHC manifolds. then you can also get the aftermarket stuff for the vtec head later on. if you really want some power, take the vtec head to a good sport compact shop and send it off to get it milled, they cut the bottom of the head down to decrease the volume of the chamber, which increases compression further. tell them you want to get to about 10.5:1 compression. then you will need to get an adjustable cam gear and get it tuned on a dyno. milling the head will change the angle on the cam gear, so it will run really poorly W/O tuning. then only run premium gas, as the high compression will cause detonation w/o it.

106 to 127 is 21, but whatever. so I'm not going to get much hp for the money I'm spending then. What else would you suggest I do so that I can have a decent amount of power without paying an arm and a leg
