Default T/c a B18C?

I have a 97 DX 2 door coupe and I am going to be putting a t/c in it. I just wanted to know if the B18C Type R engine was a good engine to do this to? I was doing some research and I thought some where I read that this was not a good idea. If what would be the best engine to do this to, to get the most power out of?

B18C5 is a bad motor to boost.......compression is too high. U can put a B16 head on it and it will lower the compression to handle the boost. However if ur really going to turbo ur car just get a B16 and ud be very happy. Turbo on a B18C5 would be some $$$$ pit....consdering the motor is over 4 grand alone........

im sure if u run low boost it wont be a problem........but from what ive heard polo the b18c5 is a bad one to boost cuz of the compression. How many PSI were u runnin on ur motor.......was it a GSR or type R........

Its not bad, you just have to keep the boost at sane levels. nothing crazy. Id think a B18C1 with a B16 head swap would be the best DOHC VTEC motor for boost

b16 head will only lower the compression on a GSR, not a type r. the type r and b16 heads are the same casting.

go with a GSR motor for boost.
