02 sensor

Have a turbo kit installed on my 03 EX and it's running rough....mechanic says I need a new 02 sensor (both) and a new map sensor to fully diagnos the problem.

As I bought the car this way last June, I have no idea if this is accurate or not, and the parts and labor gonna run me $350. Then they say they will be able to tell me the problem, which could cost me god knows what.

So my question is, with a turbo kit installed, would these parts be required to perform the diagnostics? Or are they not understanding how the turbo could be affecting their diagnosis?

did you get your car tuned when you installed the turbo?

Car came with turbo installed and yes, it was tuned by a shop that specializes in turbos. Unfortunately the girl I bought the car from moved 1000 miles to where I am and I can't take the car there to check it out.

We don't have a turbo facility in town, so I took it to a highly respected shop in town. They say they can work on turbos, but this seems odd to me.

Is the ECU throwing O2 sensor and MAP sensor codes? If so, you may be able to fix the problem yourself.

yes, that is what they are saying. Hearing you mention ECU, I believe she mentioned that she had the ECU flashed?

Can anyone elaborate on the possible effect the ECU could have on this?

Drive your car to an auto parts store where they will pull the CEL codes with a scan tool. Post the codes.
