05' civic 1.7 liter. what to do??
 

i have a base model 2005 civic and from a little bit of research not found much on the base 1.7 engine. im fairly new to hondas with only owning a previous model with the 1.5 in it. i am curious what the main difference in the 1.7 and the higher model engines. do they use the same block with different bore or stroke? i know the ecu and head are different. any insight would be appreciated. not looking for a high h.p. racer just a little more out of the anemic thing.

the 1.7 's are not compatible with any other engines alot of people dont like that because of that...

But You could try a I/H/E and see if it feels any better. Really that is all you can do aside from turboing, rebuilding for high compression or Doing an engine swap.

What exactly do you find anemic about it?

Acceleration from stop?
acceleration from 20-50?
acceleration from 50-70?

Depending on what you are after you may have to go a different rout. But honestly, Don't expect to get much without doing some major work. Most Honda Engines are like this. Unlike Mustang loser we can;t just go buy a new chip for ZOMG +100 million billion HP =P
