i have an 07 si. i have about 230hp to the motor right now with I/H/E, plus ETD to help agasint wheel hop. you have probably about 215 top to the motor and 185 to the wheels. the SI is 197 to the motor at 7800 rpms. the wheel power is about 15% less then the motor. to get 300 hp safely. get intake manifold, header, cams, pistons, fuel system, throttle body and nitrious. you'll get there that way. or just step up and get a turbo with all that except the header, and intake, cuz those will be replaced with the turbo system.

The reason for vtec is to switch the power band from low end to top end. In other words, dropping the vtec engagment will result in less torque.

no it wont reduce your overall torque at all...
you'll pull more between 4500rpm and about 6300rpm
but your total at the peak is the same as it was beforehand.

ITB's a set of cams, and a worked head will get you 240 to 250whp and that 197 rated hp is underrated a little and they are putting around 190 to the wheels.
