11:5 LS/VTEC Issues

i just got my motor put together and got 800 miles on it and tried to get on it and the power on bottom end is great until about 5800-6000 rpms. it seems like it just struggles to gain the rpms as fast as it used too. i have it timed just like my last ls/vtec, TDC with cam notches lined up. it runs and idles fine but when your just on normal driving its fine, but if you open the throttle wide open, it boils out the white/blue smoke. what could be my problem? i tried retarding and advancing the cams. do i need to focus on the crank instead of the cams? my first time building a ls/vtec with this high of a comp. ratio. any other motor i have built has been with the LS(PR4) pistons, but this time i took a 96 LS Block,Crank, and Rods and pressed 99 B16(PR3) piston heads on them with a 92 B17 GSR head with ARP head studs to top it off and using 55 lbs. of fuel pressure to compensate the high comp. need help fast, im stuck on what else i can do!!!

White smoke is no good. That's quite a potpourri of components. You sure those pistons are the right bore? Did you hone the cylinders wallsbefore you re-ringed the pistons? New rings? You sure you have the right head gasket for that set-up? I've neverheard of a B17 ls/vetc before. Did you re-surface the head?

i honed out the cylinders before putting pistons in and used new rings. bore is the same for b16 b17 b18 (81mm) except for b20(83mm) everything inside is new. used right head gasket, you use head gasket for the block (ls), not the head!!! everything is set up right, i'm just having trouble with the smoking, its just when you open it wide open or coasting down a hill while in gear then giving it gas after coasting! im gonna tear the head down and put new valve seals in it and see if that helps a little bit. im not running a knock sensor, never have before, could this be my problem? on the last 6 ls/vtecs i have built, i have never used one of these sensors.
