1994 Civic DX D15 questions.
Whats up everybody, new to the community so hello. I am just recently getting into the honda scene after purchasing my first honda, 1994 dx with a D15. I am pretty familiar with most of the blocks honda makes and such. I guess my question is, is there any heads that i can swap on to the d15 in order to make it a DOHC V-tec. Also because i am possily considering a motor swap, what would be the ideal block to match up with this car for simplicity, i was leaning torwards possibly a b16. Any input from you guys is appreciated.
Thanks. |
RE: 1994 Civic DX D15 questions.
the only D that is DOHC is the ZC, not sure if you can swap that head though....other than that they're all SOHC.
B series swaps are fairly striaght frowrad, still need different mounts and shift linkage, but its easier than an H, F, or K series. Quite a few people on here have B swaps. |

The ZC on your D15B7 block is not easy. I've read that you must modify the oil passages and finding a timing belt is hard. Plus, why have that little D15B7 block in your car. I say save for the swap, if you must, do a D16Z6 mini-me swap and get some VTEC outta her now. Thats just imo..
