1997 honda civic d15b swap troubles
I have a 1997 honda civic ex and i swaped a D15B into it. well now im having trouble with my rev-limiter kicking in around 4500 rpms and once the car gets warmed up it starts acting like its over loading and missing on random cylinders. im not sure what the problem is and i was just wondering if anyone can help. Thanks

Thats kinda what i had in mind but i wasnt sure. i think im probably gonna just either see if the front cover from my y8 block and crank pully will work on my d15 if so i can just put the crank sencor on the d15 if not im just gonna pull the internals out of the d15 and just put them in the y8. the bore and stroke i think are the same on the 2 engines right.

basicly all i did is drop the engine into the car thats all i was told i had to do. i had a feeling that it wasnt gonna work in the 1st place but i tried it anyway lol wasnt smart... i prolly should have just built the y8 with the inturnals from the d15 b

honestly you did better switching to the d15b......the 96-00 sohc engines are known to have bottom end issues. personally id get a z6 distributor and convert to the internal crank sensor found in the z6 dizzy. a little rewiring and your good to go.

i am going to assume you are using the d15b vtec, which uses a z6 head with a slightly more aggressive cam. if its the non vtec d15b then you'll have to use the dx 92-95 distributor.
