2000 Si

Been reading this site for like 3 hours. Got some good stuff. So question to the experts. I got like $1500 to spend on my civic and i waned to know what mods would you recomend. I already got headers, intake and exaust( think about gettin a new one. But dont kno which brand... Flowmaster?)

All the money i spent on those mods and i still got beat by my roomates 2007 Sicon tC stock. His is stocked at 160 hp. Does not seem that those mods really helped much. I am still kinda new to the whole stick thing been at it for about 3 weeks but havent stalled in awhile. Think thats why i lost. Another question. When racing i usually shift at about 7800 rpm. Is that the right time or earlier?

Thanks in advance.

i'd say shift a little earlier...

i'd say work on suspension, yes, it does help your launch therefore decreasing your 60' time

maybe advance the timing just a little, and run premium gasin it, that's the easiest mod

idk about the flowmaster idea, look into other brands such as apexi, dc, borla maybe, piece together your own

that's mainly all of the "bolton's" there are unless you get cam gears, cams, etc.

RE: 2000 Si

When you say advance the timing wat do you mean?
And do cams really help that much?
I plan on turboing it later on like christmas or something. I want to get everything else out of the way before that.

RE: 2000 Si

oh, ic, you're going the turbo route, then forget everything i said, don't worry about the timing then

just piece together your turbo kit and research a lot and get a good tune, then you should be around the 250hp mark maybe, depending on the turbo size and what not....

RE: 2000 Si

yeah man if you've got $1500 i say boost it, that'll get you some real power :)you might need a little more money, but by Christmas time i imagein you'd be all set

Remmy 02-21-2007 12:09 PM

RE: 2000 Si

If you boost that Si its going to HAUL ASS. I really hope you are good enough to drive it because when you mash that gas and drop a gear, you will be fighting the car to stay on the road... I chit you not.

RE: 2000 Si

Yea i can drive but not like racing driving so i am gettin the practice. The boost thing will have to wait cause i am kinda scared of the power. My friend let me take a spin in his Evo 9 MR. Dont kno wat he did to it but my body became one with the seat. Felt like i was in a jet. So yea until i get more experience no boost dor me. So another question . Want to inprove the handing on my car. Wat to get and brand? Got 17' rims and some racin tires already.

Saving up and working on your turbo is teh best route. I'd say once you get a little better at driving a 5 speed you should be able to beat the scion TC they arent that fast.

He's just learning to drive a stick thats how. I remember how hard it was to shift fast when I was just learning. If I tried to pound through the gears at all my first couple weeks I was almost guaranteed to screw somethin up. Giving a month or so and He'll be able to smoke that Tc no problem. They only run low 16s stock last time I checked. A 2000 Si stock runs 15.7

i have a 2000 si which is 4sale cuz i have a different car im working on a crx si but all i have on it isgreddycat back, aem full cold air, venom 400 chip, header, and je pistons and i can run along side my buddies supercharged cobalt. it also has been lowered an inch an a half, konig rims, short throw shifter, and some interior mods but those dont make it go faster lol.

the rims could be lighter, which would give you better acceleration, and the short throw increases shift speed, which takes away from lag between shifts, so techincally no theres no added power, but it definately does make your car faster.

RE: 2000 Si
