3 Groove Alternator Pulley for D15B Honda Civic Engine
 

Please tell me how I can find the part number, or an equivalent part, of a 3 groove alternator pulley that will match with a D15B engine from Japan.

After my 1992 Honda Civic LX's engine was replaced with a D15B engine from Japan, my alternator belt started to fray.

I was told my alternator should have a 3 groove pulley instead of the 2 groove pulley it currently has.

A Japanese engine swap place told me they could swap out the alternator pulley if I tipped them, otherwise I'll have to replace the alternator ($275 quote).

I know that an OBD0 (88-91) Civic Alternator has a 3 rib pulley. I actually just bought one about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully that helps you out.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but could you tell me exactly which 88-91 model it is, so I can tell that to the junkyard person?

I ask because someone on another forum said, "If your crank pulley has 3 ribs you need an alt pulley from a 92-95 civic, if it has 2 you need one from a 88-91 civic or crx. ", so I guess you guys are referring to different 88-91 models.

I don't know anything about 88-91 Civics. I assume they are all the same. Check the part numbers. I just bought it for my H22 alternator conversion.
