i think the mustang only has about 260whp, it's rated at 300 to the motor for the GT. if you got a H22 with a b16 tranny, turbo, and stripped it out, you;d take him. H22 motor is also cheaper then a b16, b18 and a relatively easy swap. if you had a civic with 250whp, and factored in the huge weight differnence, put some good tires on it, you'd take him. mustang is a little over 1,000 lbs. heavier with driver in car, then the honda would be.
The H2B set up with a turbo will be way over $3500. Buy the B16 and drop it in the car then go from there. You could turbo it and try to make 230-250hp and youd take him. Or you can put some rods and pistons in there and boost the hell out of it and take him that way. The B16 is a great engine for boost, dont knock it. Yes it sucks for N/A power.

you could purchase a used turbo tho. which would be dirt cheap compared to a new one. so you could get sa h22 with turbo for around 3500 i would think..h22 is cheaper then b16;s

well you'll need a tune, so thats like $300-$400 of the $1500. So B16 swap + boost....give it some Eagle rods, Vitara pistons, ARP headstuds, but depending how much boost you could get atleast 250 hp.....still be tough to beat that car with a Civic and a fairly limited budget
vitara is only available for d series :D

my bad my bad, posted before i thought it through

and from what i've heard H's dont hold up to boost very well unless built. H22a's compression is 10.6:1, so you'll need to drop that if you want boost

OK well I heard some ppl talking about building and boosting the motor that is already in the civic....I think its a D16Y8 thats in it now. That would allow me to put more money into building the engine and boosting it. How much hp can you get out of those????

I agree with marty and tubby. Srsly dude, dont build youre car to try to beat someone else. What does it prove other than who's faster? What are you gonna do if you do beat him? Are you gonna build your car to beat a ferrari or lamborghini? Stop being a f*ckin ricer and trying to be the fastest thing out there. Truth is, youre in a civic, always will be. My last point...if you dont even know what engine is in your car or even the slightest idea of its potential...gtfo and dont ruin a civic. Do your research dumbass

well thanks for your professionalism in this matter guys love ur opinions but keep them too yourself. If i want a civic that can beat a ferrarri then let me thats how all this started anyway some dude in a civic wanted to be faster so he turboed it. I dont appreciate any of your rudeness either.
