Hey guys new here. I have 91 civic dx hatchback, and i want to swap in some vtec, heres the catch, I need it to be auto. Is there any engines I can swap in that come with an auto tranny? I've been on a few jdm engine sites and so far they all come with a 5spd? a while ago i heard something like the
b16a1 can come with an auto tranny but i haven't seen it? Thanks Ben!!

 

Hey ben just to let u know yes engines some of the engines do have auto trannys. Now the question is what type of engine do u really want to put in car and maybe we can help you out some more.

 

Hey i'm just looking for some vtec and then would be about it for my engine mods and intake, I'm not looking for muich. I mean it's an auto and right now its slowwwwwwww as hell, I figure the b16a1 would at least put out 150-160hp not sure if it changes if its an auto, but im wondering how hard is it to find an auto tranny for the b16?

 

if you are just looking for vtec you can do a y8 mini me swap. you could find a head for pretty cheap and you would just have to wire it up.


b16 is not a cheep swap. youll be spending close to 2500 for the swap and who konws if you will be able to find the auto tranny for it.

Y8 would give you vtec and put you up arround 120-130 hp.
