Aftermarket cam gears?

Would it be worth buying a new cam gear and not advancing or retarding it, just replacing it with the old in the same position?

no. cam bears really only make a difference on cars with moderate to heavy modding.

A new cam gear will not make a difference if you get say AEM Adjustable's you can make minor 1 degree changes and it will make some difference but like mentioned above it will not make much or if any difference on a stock car the more supporting mods you have the more you will gane from adjustable came gears but they are pretty pricy for the difference in power they make untill you have lots of mods done. Good luck.

I put a pair on my b16, they made 0 horse, I also couipled my otherwise stock motor with a AEM fuel rail and FPR, for a combined total of the three mods for exactly 0 horsepower again. Point being, theyre useless till you need em, but they are shiny and nifty looking in the mean time!!! lol :)
