Default Another engine question

Just curious if one of you more educated guys or gals can tell what engine is in my 97 Civic EX. I am having a difficult time figuring out all the code and letters. A friend of mine said that it has a VTEC but I wanna get a more educated answer. I appreciate it!!!

I am truly amazed at how much you guys know about these cars. I never knew the endless possibilities until I just Goggled Honda Civic forums. After watching the Viper vs. Acura GSR I am leaning towards the speed aspect of it (I know I wont be quite that quick). First things first though, I got some exterior work to do. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can swap ur d16y8 for a b18c1 (GSR...the engine that was in that teggy) and its pretty much a direct drop in except for one of the mounts (rear i think) and the wiring may be different
