Yeah, sounds like the leak is primarily coming from the top of the oil pan. Replacing the gasket is a sure-thing fix but, if you were lucky, simply re-torquing the oil pan nuts and bolts to spec might solve the problem.

ya, thanks for the input, ima try that first to see if it at least slows down the leak. although the leak is not that bad, its just annoying. after lookin at the picture posted earlier and lookin at the actual pan im thinkin i just might replace anyways, it doesnt seem difficult at all, im just hoping thats all that the oil will be leakin from.

Did you remove the section of the exhaust pipe and bracket around the oil pan?

The oil pan needs to be pried loose. Be patient and do this very carefully so as not to damage the mating surfaces. I had a similar problem with oil pan removal and eventually abandoned the job because my oil leak was not coming from the oil pan. By the way, I was told that a large rubber mallet may help.

the hammer idea worked, but i did not take off the small piece of exhause pipe. i tried working around but i guess i have to, now i gotta go buy a long 14mm socket, cuz the bolt is too damn long.

ok, thats pretty much what i did, but i also put very small dots in random areas. i also didnt have a torque wrench and apparently advance doesnt sell them so i tightened them by hand. i tightend till i started seeing the gasket squeeze, then i stopped and backturned just a little bit. how long you think i should wait before adding oil and seeing if it leaks?

Purchase/borrow a torque wrench and torque the bolts in the order indicated in the service manual. You really don't want to do this job twice.
