Anybody have a receipt for a B16A engine?
So i have had a project car that i have been working on for a while now and i bought a B16A engine for it and sold the stock one out of my 99 civic. So basically the short story is i set the receipt on the counter for it and a week later i went to look for it and somebody threw it away or something. I have to have a receipt when i take it into the state patrol because it has a wrecked title and to get a new one issued for it in my name i have to have a receipt for every aftermarket thing i have put on there and if i dont have a receipt for my engine they will pull it. I was wondering if anybody had a receipt they could fax or send me without a block # on it on the receipt? Or if anybody knows any other solutions that wont cost thousands of dollars, let me know, Otherwise i am Sh*t out luck. Thanks

yea, i already tried that. they said they werent able to because i saved up and paid cash. if i would have used a credit card or check i would have been able to get a duplicate.

Would a prood of sale sheet work the same way? At my work (dry cleaning) certain companies pay for dry cleaning, and they have to have a sheet that shows proof that they spent the money on dry cleaning. I dunno if that will help, but it coulnt hurt.

Yea that would probably work but how do i get one? The old guy that works there doesnt remember me goin in to buy it. so he probably isnt going to issue me a prood of sale. they didnt ship it to me so its not like they could look it up in there computer. i went and picked it up, so there is really no proof that i bought it. its like what the hell is there to do without having to spend a few grand to buy a new engine, which is pointless when i have a new one sitting in the garage. not to mention i dont have the money.

They dont remeber you after you dropped that much cash? Seems like just about any place but wal mart and target would remeber a customer paying a big payment in cash.
At my shop we would without a doubt remeber that.
