Yea it does seem like they would remember but the old fart that works there can't remember crap. hes like 85yrs old.

 

Try taking your car and have someone look at the vin #. Usually when a business does a transaction, like selling an item for a few grand, they put the information of the item, like any numbers that might be on it ( vin #s ) to help themselves out in the case of a theft. show the man the vin on the motor to his face and he should have it in his computer that it was sold and not reported stolen.
