RE: Auto D16Y8
yes,, yes, yes to everything. you can do whatever you want to an auto, however, 1) an auto has more drivetrain loss and therefor less of your power gets to the ground 2) auto transmissions both break easier than mannys and are harder to fix and 3) autos shift at like 4k even at WOT, so you never hit peak power. bottom line: can you mod a car with an auto tranny? yes. will it be slower than a manny? yes. now heres the big one: can you change it to an auto? yes. research auto to manual transmission swaps. i think pete was going to do one...he probably knows a lot more about it than me.

RE: Auto D16Y8
manual sawp is out of the question way to much money. the 4k **** point is wrong i take mine to redline at 6600-7000 rpm all the time. i noe ill have less power thn a manny as well as less accel but w/e its fine. wht about the clutch for autos...anything i need or should upgrade there?

RE: Auto D16Y8
the biggest problem with using an auto tranny is they break easier, and are harder to repair. i can find my way around a manual transmission if im given the time but with auto trannys im mentally retarted...theyre not easy...especially when you're repairing them when they break under the stress. i just want you to know what you're getting into if you're seriously building an auto tranny car.

RE: Auto D16Y8
The best mod for an auto tranny car is selling it and buying a 5sp:D

RE: Auto D16Y8
ever wonder why honda doesnt put more engineering time into their automatic transmissions. i mean alot of people drive automatics and want to do performance upgrades to them. i personally feel that is the only point that honda needs to work on to become the perfect automotive manufacture.
