waddup yo... i have a 99 civic ex (d16y8) sohc. I want to know first off if it is possible to puta non hydraulic clutch operatedmanual tranny inmy civic.What would i needto smoke in order to get all this work done..probably some good crack <IMG src=smileys/smiley11.gif border="0">... but anywayz... iwanna know if it is possible andwhat i would need to do it. my automatictrannie isn't doing itfor meespecially while on thetrack doing autocross. i read about conversions for a hydraulic system and manysaid that it is too costly and time consuming and just flat out not worth it. so what do yall think i should do. tell me b! i'm serious yo!!!<IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0"></P>

I would go to a junk yard and get the pieces of a stripped car. The most expensive item would be the tranny itself.

i agree with these guys on the junkyard idea...find a bashed civic and hit it up...then go to the drugstore or your local corner, depending on where you are from, and buy lots of sh*t to make your brain numb cause you are gonna have a headache with this one...not impossible just frustrating...you will cuss alot...possibly even throw a tool or two...definately loose the auto tranny though!

Definately possible but the easiest fix for this is get a different car, if you got the dough for a tranny swap you definately can afford to trade your car for another or even sell yours and buy another. if you don't want to let your motor go just swap it out with a stock one and keep the one you got, ebay is good for that or even a junkyard.

I HAD TO CHANGE MY CIVIC FROM AUTOMATIC TO MANUAL AND IT WAS EASY BECAUSE I BOUGHT AN 95 INTEGRA THAT WAS IN A BIG ACCIDENT IN AN AUCTON AND I JUST GOT EVERYTHING FROM THE INTEGRA AND JUST PUT IT ON MY CAR. SO YOUR BEST BET IS TO FIND SOME WHO IS SELLING A CRASH CAR AND JUST TAKE ALL THE PARTS FROM THAT CAR BECAUSE IN A JUNK YARD ALL THE PARTS MIGHT BE MORE EXPENSIVE SOMETIMES.
